I got to photograph at two of my favorite places for this lovely wedding. Sarah got ready at The Historic Brookstown Inn downtown Winston-Salem. I can not explain to you how much character the Inn has. I always enjoy the downtown feel, rich textures and all the amazing little details that make this place stand out. Her dress was one of the most unique ones I have seen and I really loved the vintage detail and simplicity. The florals for the wedding really knocked my socks off…wait until you see these bouquets!
We did Sarah and Ben’s 1st look at the courtyard at the Brookstown Inn and it was the perfect backdrop. We captured some photos around the Inn as well to get a little of that downtown feel. After the 1st look we headed to Old Salem for the actual wedding. Old Salem is one of my all time favorite places to photograph. I can not tell you how many photo sessions I have completed at Old Salem through the years. I have a favorite spot there and it is the Tavern Meadow. Now, out of all the weddings I have done I have never photographed a wedding AT the Tavern Meadow so this was like a dream to me. I know the meadow and area well so I knew there would be some amazing light there! There was a chance for rain all day and I am always okay with that because I know the clouds will give some great diffused light but brides kinda freak out. Lucky for all of us the rain held off and we had a gorgeous day for an outdoor wedding!
After the ceremony we captured some bride and groom portraits at the Tavern Meadow and around Old Salem. The reception took place at the Visitor’s Center in Old Salem.
