A lot of times parents are super stressed by the time they get to me for their session. They have spent all day getting ready for their kids photos and have warned the kid that they better be good and smile. The session starts and usually the kids (especially toddler age) get playful and antsy and the parents start to stress. Well, this is completely normal! I normally try to tell the parents that it is totally fine. I tell them repeatedly that the kid is doing just fine because they are. My goal is always to capture the kid as they are. Kids just don’t pose for photos and honestly…I love the moments that we always seem to capture when they are just being themselves. Most all kids do absolutely fine…some just need to play and have some fun. Of course, we try to get some posed photos but most of the time I can get some amazing shots of your child just by talking to them. So, parents…don’t stress about your photo session. Go into it knowing that your kid is going to run around, not want to sit still and not want to smile. Just relax and have a good time and it will show through the photos 🙂 Now, having said that…I want to share some of my recent favorite photos that are not exactly posed-everyone is not looking at the camera-but I would SO put it on my wall because each one captures the moment. I LOVE photos like this!

This photo just makes me smile. He is cracking up and his little sister just thinks he is the funniest thing ever. It’s a real moment!

This one makes me laugh because the little boy has an super funny personality and is a jokester. His expression is hilarious and the little girl is just a sweet little princess.

This little boy was having a blast running and playing and I am reminded of the innocence of childhood by this photo.

Not your typical family photo but everyone is having fun! Mom is laughing along too:)
