Winston-Salem Wedding Photographer-Shoot & Mingle 2012

A couple months ago Ashley (Ashley Turner from A Photo By Ashley) and I decided we wanted to reach out to other local photographers and to local vendors to set up a themed shoot.  Our goals were to give these photographers a chance to shoot in an amazing location with models that we would pose and style.  We wanted to set these guys up for the most success we could and really show them how we pose couples and brides and allow them to shoot without pressure.  We decided to go with something edgy and the awesome folks at Ray White’s agreed to let us shoot there (thank you, Donnie).  Ashley and I were going for a bold and unique theme with lots of rich color and details that were modern and funky.  We came up with our concept and collaberated with our vendors to create the ultimate junkyard/modern/bold and funky theme.  Thanks to the help from all of our amazing vendors,  I think we succeeded!

The shoot was so much fun and although it rained on us for a little bit we ended up with amazing light to work with.  We had three beautiful brides-Elizabeth, Laney & Heather and one super brave groom-Lucas.  I can’t even begin to  tell you how amazing these four did.  They really came through for us and each gave us a totally unique look and worked the camera for us and all the other photographers.  Ashley and I worked with each girl and the couple to pose them in simple and modern ways.  We provided the other photographers with multiple set-ups at a time and they rotated around to each while we posed and directed the couple.  We ended with the bride and groom models having a cake fight and boy, was that funny!  The models totally went for it and had a blast.  I was a little bummed that we didn’t get to eat more cake but we did get to try a bit….yummy, it was AMAZING!

Overall it was a great experience that we hope to do again and tweak it a little after learning from this first experience.  It could not have happened without the vendors and models and we can’t thank you guys enough!
