Some weddings are an absolute blast and flow beautifully from beginng to end. Alicia and Chase’s wedding at Wait Chapel was one of those weddings. In the week leading up to the wedding I got a tiny bit worried when I learned that the memorial service for Maya Angelou was being held the same day at Wait Chapel. Alicia was assured by the folks at Wait Chapel that all would be perfect for her nuptials and indeed they were. Oprah even allowed the flowers from the memorial to be used for the wedding ceremony. What an honor! It felt so fitting that such a beautiful soul was honored at Wait Chapel earlier in the day and the day ended with a celebration of a union of love.
We arrived super early just to be certain there were no traffic issues or problems getting into the chapel but entrance was a breeze and we even snagged a fabulous parking space. The guys were the first to be photographed and I knew right away that this group was going to be insanely FUN! You will see that there are many laughter filled photos and that is because the entire day was truly like that…it was just pure FUN! This whole bridal party was one of the most energetic and personable groups I have worked with. I felt like I was in an episode of Friends most of the day…either that or a Musical because there was lots of singing and dancing going on.
One of the most memorable things about Alicia & Chase’s wedding was when Chase played piano and his best man, Adam, sang during the prelude. These two have some skills! I also will never forget the awesome cake topper that was so perfect for them or Chase and Adam breaking it down to some old school Mariah Carey (Fantasy for those of you wondering). Alicia and Chase shared one of the sweetest first dances I have ever seen. It wasn’t super emotional or filled with tears but they were laughing, singing and just having an absolute blast with each other.
